The Sigma Nu Beta Beta chapter was charted at DePauw University on November 19th, 1890. The chapter was 28th Sigma Nu fraternity charted and is currently the 20th oldest Sigma Nu chapter in the country. Sigma Nu has over 249,565 initiates since its founding in 1869 with Beta Beta having been home for over 1,600 of those initiates.
On Saturday, November 21st, 2015 the Beta Beta chapter celebrated its 125 anniversary. This all day event included a networking breakfast, tours of the current chapter house, an alumni vs active basketball game, and an evening dinner for actives and alumni.
Over the past 130 years, the Beta Beta Chapter has called many location different home. First, the chapter spent much of the 20th century in the large brick chapter at 201 E. Seminary St. Greencastle, IN. Then in the 1990s Sigma Nu moved across campus to the corner of Anderson St and I-231 where they presided for 15+ years. Finally, in 2010 Beta Beta moved once more to 309 East Seminary Street, Greencastle, IN; where they preside today.
